Course Material

Courses are organized to follow published and proven study methods providing an organized growth path for learning the selected instrument.  The materials presented in these study guides are enhanced by teaching the student popular songs, to keep the student’s interest.

The introductory course materials for beginners are listed. Experienced students will use materials as appropriate.

Guitar: Progressive Guitar Method (Rhythm, Lead, Funk)

Vocals: Hal Leonard Teen’s Musical Theater Collection

Piano: Schaum’s Finger Power, Pre-Time/Play-Time Piano Series

Kinder Program: Alfred’s Prep Beginner Theory, Bastien Piano Basics - Piano Primer

The school recognizes that the student takes these courses for recreational purposes. To facilitate learning the school will assign homework at each lesson. For maximum growth, the student should practice these homework assignments.

Missed Lessons

If the instructor misses a weekly lesson, the instructor will provide an alternate make-up lesson or a substitute teacher will cover that class. If the teacher canceling a lesson causes the student to receive less than four (4) lessons for that month, one fourth of the student’s tuition will be refunded for each missed lesson. The refund will be offered as a deduction from the following month’s tuition.

If a student calls at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule a lesson, then the instructor will make an effort to reschedule the lesson during their normal working hours, if missing the lesson causes the student to receive less than four (4) lessons for that month.  If the student does not call at least 24 hours in advance or the lesson cannot be rescheduled during the instructor’s normal working hours, the missed lesson will be forfeited and the full monthly tuition is due. Please consider that the teacher time will be there with no student, since the timeslot is reserved for the scheduled student.
